fall 2010 (gap inc. edition)
My class schedule is set. Now it’s time to make sure I have the back-to-school essentials: a collegiate wardrobe fit for class, lab work, and teaching an undergraduate psychology lab. I see lots of sweater vests, blazers, and button-up blouses over skinny jeans and chunky shoes. I’m excited about fall – it’s always been my favorite fashion season!
Fashion mags always start in mid-summer with their fall previews. The thought of fur (faux, of course) or leather in this 95-plus heat makes me crazy, but also makes me excited for the cool evenings to come.
I started my fall perusing at the Gap Inc. stores. Below are some of the looks/pieces I will be snatching up:
Banana Republic: This retailer’s palette is chock full of great neutrals accented with deep blues and pastels. The look is classic and adaptable for any lifestyle the modern woman might choose.

Gap: The skinny jean and legging steals the show here. These pieces are the perfect dress-down accompaniments to the BR look above. The vests are so academic-chic and this look is great for the degree of dressing up I need to do on a daily basis.

Piperlime: Shoes! What’s not to love! Like I said, chunky is the key word for fall.
