Archive for September, 2007

That is what I learned when I walked into Banana Republic with my mother yesterday. I might have walked out with the white sleeveless blouse with the origami folds, but I wanted to take a lot more with me. It’s so Audrey Hepburn in there lately, which makes me want to break the bank.
I was [...]

Love this collection. The classic white that kicks off the runway, the nude fabric and especially the brocade. I absolutely love brocade, and I think its incorporation in this collection helps Dolce & Gabbana look uber-sophisticated this season. The sheer pants — similar to the ones that came down the catwalks at Prada and Christopher [...]

dsquared

28Sep07

The show was exactly would I expect from Dsquared. There was a certain lack of preppiness and a little bit more Versace in this show than in seasons past.
While I love the necklaces and embellishments on the dresses, I was really disappointed to see cigarettes in some of the girls’ hands. As if those are [...]

sick day 2

Sick day No. 2. Sorry guys, but health comes first.

prada

I’m sad that I kind of let London Fashion Week pass me by, but I have just dove head first into Milan FW. I am loving what’s come out so far. It makes me so anxious for PARIS!
On to Prada. I have had a love-hate relationship with Miuccia during the past two seasons. Her 2007 [...]

jil sander

This collection reminds me a lot of Stella McCartney’s past two collections:

The left is Stella’s hot pink jumpsuit for this season. On the right is Jil Sander’s hot pink dress for spring ‘08.

On the left is Stella McCartney’s white v-neck sweater. On the right, Jil Sander’s spring take on the piece.
Jil Sander also reminded me [...]

*Yawn* Compared to last spring season — during which Burberry was one of my absolute favorite collections — this year’s Burberry Prorsum show elicited exactly that reaction from me (*yawn again*). The colors are drab and while there are great uses of fabric and textures in the pieces, it is in no means the chic, [...]

I’m so sorry I’ve been MIA recently. Work has been busy. Life has been busy. I have to seriously catch up on fashion weeks and happenings.
The best thing about 2008 is not my imminent wedding. It’s the Sex and the City movie, of course. =) John and I actually bonded over SATC, watching every [...]

aquascutum

20Sep07

Gray. White. Navy! Color! It was all on the Aquascutum runway. And it was fabulous. I love the care-free shape (I’m still not over the volume trend that started this  past spring). The prints toward the end with the roses and florals were so unique — unlike other florals seen the past few weeks.

sick day

19Sep07

Migraine today, so the fashion world is passing me by. I will *hopefully* return tomorrow.
In the meantime, I am passing the time at work at ABC.com by watching The Fashionista Diaries. Check it out when you get the chance.
