stylefeeder
Stylefeeder is a great tool that helps you keep track of items you like as you shop online. I know I spend hours browsing online shops only to leave and never revisit because it leaves my mind. You can install Stylefeeder on your toolbar, and add an item to your list as you go. You can even link it to Facebook.
It’s like a conglomerated wishlist. I noticed as I was saving items to my Stylefeeder that I am really into color right now. Working in a store whose designs are pretty much all black with some black + white graphic prints, this doesn’t surprise me. Look me up if you join. My username is rosyeponine.

girls’ night in harem pants
Rarely is there an occasion in my life that does not call for me to dress my retail brand. Ironically, tomorrow night there is a get-together of my former coworkers at my old store (which closed in January) and I have the perfect, casual night in with the girls outfit.

This really adorable top from Urban (which looks better in person than on this top-heavy model) paired with these harem pants from Target.
The only piece of the puzzle I don’t have is the shoes. I like the shoes Target pairs with the pants, and I think gladiator is the direction to go. Either way, this outfit is slouchy, comfy, and fresh.
My husband was puzzled as to if these were really in that I would order some from Urban, return them because they looked ridiculous and then buy a much better suited pair from Tarjay. Well, Eva Mendes, what do you think?

handmedown chic

RBils reminds me of my mother’s mini-skirt and travelin’ days. My mom passed down these great suede boots and peasant blouses from the 1970s. I am feeling it. Again, cannot wait for spring!!!

waiting for spring
It has been bitterly cold down south this winter. Seriously, I feel as if I have been freezing my tail off. This hasn’t left me with a lot of fashion inspiration. Most of what has inspired me is a nod to warmer days.

These leather boots from Target ($35) are on their way to me in the mail. They were affordable (a must these days) and I cannot wait for it to warm up so I can pair them with a flouncy spring dress or skirt a la Whitney:

mizrahi for liz claiborne
I have the cutest tafetta dress from Isaac Mizrahi for Target, and I have to admit I was sad to hear he was ending that collaboration. But Mizrahi + Tim Gunn!? It has to be even more of a winner. So his new Liz Claiborne collection is out for preview:

great in 2008: Gossip Girl
I was watching the fashion show episode of Gossip Girl and remembered how much I love this show. It’s so smart despite its over use of sexed up teenagers. Eleanor Waldorf said to Jenny after her green mess of a dress goes down the runway she is going to expose her “Eve Harrington ways.” Now, I doubt the average GG viewer would even pick that up, and I sure didn’t the first time. But it’s a reference to the classic film “All About Eve” starring Bette Davis as an aging actress who is usurped by a younger manipulative Eve.
So with a renewed appreciation for GG, I remember the great fashion moments and trend sparked by the Upper East Siders this year. The female stars also made a splash on the red carpet, with Leighton Meester amping up the stakes with her edgy, innovative looks.

great in 2008: SATC
We cannot reflect upon 2008 and forget Sex and the City, which blazed into our lives in lots of fashion glory. The girls were back and not only impressed in the movie, but on the red carpet as well. It was such a blessing to have the Fab Four back again.
The London premiere opened to a frenzy, and people were going crazy over SJP’s hat. I think it was fabulous and very, very appropriate. SJP has always been a great style innovator, and the hat was a great homage to her slightly quirkier alter ego, Carrie Bradshaw.

Since my last exam was today, the year feels like it is coming to a close. Fashion took a big backseat to financial woes both in my life and in the media. But that doesn’t mean there weren’t some great fashion moments. Here’s a look back at some of the best looks of the year.
Gwyneth was a force to be reckoned with this year. I was so pleased she was back on the scene. I missed my icon so very much, but she made the wait more than worth it with her great new cropped hair do and her amazing legs!!! She makes the looming 30s look not so very bad after all! She definitely tops my list for 2008. With her new television show about a culinary road trip across Spain, Iron Man with Robert Downey Jr., becoming the new face for Tod’s and maintaining her Estee Lauder duties, and launching GOOP, her new lifestyle Web site, she’s exploded back into our lives and not a moment too soon!
